On May 13, 2024, Werkbank32 in Mittweida was transformed into a lively meeting place for the regional economy when the Central Saxony Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) hosted the event "Ecosystems as a source of successful entrepreneurship". This platform offered companies, entrepreneurs and interested parties the opportunity to exchange views on the latest developments, challenges and opportunities in the Central Saxony region in the context of personnel and specialist organization.

The event was aimed at members of the IHK, local companies, start-ups and representatives from politics and education. A total of around 30 people took part, including prominent speakers and industry experts from a local and international context.

Main topics

  1. After the welcome and opening, Melanie Kögler from TeleskopEffekt GmbH presented the current campaign to attract skilled workers and highlighted the topic of "Ecosystems and their contribution to securing skilled workers as a stable basis for cooperation".
  2. This was followed by two special recruiting topics: "Recruiting platforms as a support tool for successful HR" (TeleskopEffekt) and a contribution by Pierre Graupner, Managing Director of SazInc GmbH from Chemnitz, entitled "Building an employer brand - how do I use my social media presence".
  3. Marion Mattern from TeleskopEffekt demonstrated to the audience practical applications of ChatGPT in the field of HR and showed how the initial contact can be successfully organized.
  4. One of the highlights of the event was a look at the fully digitalized pioneering country of Estonia. Kadi Tamkõrv, Head of HR at Nortal, was connected live from Estonia and reported on the implementation of digitalization in the area of recruiting and HR management. The subsequent panel discussion in English led to intensive discussions and continued with networking.

Networking and exchange

An essential part of the event was the opportunity for networking. During the breaks, a final tour of the Innovation Campus Werkbank32 and a get-together, participants were able to make new contacts and deepen existing relationships.

Conclusion

The positive feedback from participants underlines the relevance and benefits of such events for the regional economy. The IHK Mittelsachsen is already planning further events and initiatives to continue supporting and strengthening the regional economy. The next major event is planned for fall 2024 and will focus on the topics of securing skilled workers and training.
