MittMachSommer" project idea receives prize money

Together with the city of Mittweida, our parent company Volksbank Mittweida, Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, the Blockchain Competence Center and other project partners, we have won 250,000 euros for our "MittMachSommer" project idea.

The submitted joint project "MittMachSommer" is one of the winners of the nationwide simul+Mitmachfonds ideas competition. This was announced by Saxony's State Minister for Regional Development Thomas Schmidt in an online press conference on February 28, 2022. 

In the "MittMachSommer" summer of 2022, we would like to Knowledge workers and skilled workers from the urban area the opportunity to Region around Mittweida as a place to live to get to know them. The core idea is to counteract individual and regional challenges with concrete project ideas. The guiding principle here is Revitalization of the city axis from the train station to the market square in Mittweida. Creative and digital workers from all over Germany are given the opportunity to try out living and coworking in the countryside and to actively participate in social projects. The pioneers contribute their knowledge and networks to our region and help tackle issues of digital transformation, sustainable living and social innovation together. Accompanied by a study, parallel research will be conducted, how liveable the region is.

Project start is for the July 1, 2022 planned

Ideas competition simul+Mitmachfonds

The ideas competition aims to strengthen collaborative and innovative approaches in the regions and thus improve quality of life and make a sustainable contribution to regional structural development.

The simul⁺Mitmachfonds is implemented by the Sächsische Landeskuratorium Ländlicher Raum e.V.. The competition is financed by tax funds on the basis of the budget approved by the Saxon state parliament.

The simul+Mitmachfonds comprises four modules, in which a total of almost 500 winners were selected. 914 ideas were submitted. The Mittweida project "MittMachSommer" is the winner in the cooperation module and receives prize money of 250,000 euros.
