The "Tiny House" trend has also come to Germany in recent years, with the firm conviction that it is here to stay. Whether self-built or bought, as a leisure project or in the garden as an office, studio or guest house, in an allotment or on a campsite, for singles or for students in a city of millions as a main residence or in the forest as a retreat, the possible uses are endless.
But where does the trend come from?
Tiny houses have long been an inseparable part of the Tokyo megacity, although the tiny house movement originated in the USA and was accelerated by the financial crisis in the USA in 2008. At that time, real estate became affordable for fewer and fewer people. The housing market responded with tiny houses. Tiny houses are popular because of their comparatively low purchase costs. They promise everything you need to live in less than 30 square meters.
How much space does a tiny house need?
Both interest in tiny houses and the market for tiny houses in Germany are growing. In 2019, the best-selling tiny houses had an average area of 28.7 square meters with a cost of just under 2300 euros per square meter (approximately 67,000 euros). We offer TiHo financing for both manufacturers and private customers and, above all, for those who value sustainability and a connection with nature.
