On June 29, 2021, the MPZ "DigiLab" opened its doors in the Werkbank32. In these rooms, the staff of the Media Education Center explain how a 3D printer works, how to use an interactive display and how to use conference technology, as well as many other exciting technologies that can be used in the classroom. This room is particularly equipped with technology that can and should be used in schools; teachers can now experience and try out this technology here in moderated workshops and seminars.
The opening adds another important building block to Werkbank32, the innovation center for digitalization in Mittweida, in terms of holistic digitalization. After all, digitalization begins in childhood and should be taught by trained staff, such as educators and teachers, in an age-appropriate and safe manner.
The call for greater integration of digital media into everyday school life is justifiably growing. To meet this demand, the federal and state governments launched the "Digital Pact for Schools" back in 2019. In this context, the State Office for Schools and Education launched the planning and establishment of consultation rooms by the media education centers of the Free State - including the MPZ Mittelsachsen, which is sponsored by Mittelsächsische Kultur gGmbH.in these beautiful rooms there is plenty of space to form creative ideas, try things out and forge joint formats. We, the Teleskopeffekt team, are looking forward to many points of contact and are eagerly awaiting the future. Of course, we tried out the fantastic 3D printer straight away and created a stylish key fob.
