In today's globalized world, cooperation between renowned educational institutions is a key factor for scientific progress and the development of innovative solutions. As part of a delegation trip led by the Prime Minister of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, Mittweida University of Applied Sciences launched new networking activities with Princeton University and New York University (NYU). The foundations for exciting projects in the areas of entrepreneurship, student exchanges and seminars were discussed in face-to-face meetings. These extraordinary collaborations promise to pool scientific expertise and jointly find answers to global challenges.
The third day of the delegation trip took the representatives of Mittweida University of Applied Sciences to the renowned Princeton University. Together with Rector Volker Tolkmitt, Prof. Leonhard Zintl and other academic colleagues from Saxony and Princeton, they took part in a discussion on topics such as the energy transition, future technologies, structural change and strengthening economic power. The opportunity to speak in the venerable rooms of this renowned university filled the participants with gratitude and pride. The realization that the challenges and opportunities are similar around the world motivated the panelists to use openness to technology, innovation and motivation as drivers for joint solutions.
On the fourth day of the delegation trip, Mittweida University was welcomed by Martin Ihrig, Associate Dean of the NYU School of Professional Studies. This personal meeting allowed the representatives of both institutions to share their common passion for innovative teaching-learning concepts and a future-oriented mindset. Volker Tolkmitt, Rector of Mittweida University, and Dr. Julia Breßler, Innovation Specialist at TeleskopEffekt, were also present and discussed with Martin Ihrig about exciting projects in the field of entrepreneurship, student exchange and seminars. The synergy between the NYU School of Professional Studies and the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences became obvious, and the certainty that both institutions complement each other perfectly emerged.
