Building Bridges, Forging Connections

The MakersHub is one of the central components of Chemnitz2025, the City of Culture year. At various locations throughout the city, creativity, craftsmanship, and digital technologies are brought together. The goal is to try new things, break down barriers between art, culture, and business, and bring together people who want to work together in innovative and creative ways.

Werkbank32: A Laboratory for Innovation

With the Werkbank32, we are Telescope effect Part of this network. Our role: we create spaces where ideas can become concrete projects. We bring our experience in innovation, transformation, and partner networks to the table—and build bridges between regional companies, startups, creative professionals, and European partners, particularly in Estonia.

Hands-On Creativity

One example of this was the Storytelling Festival in May 2025. The main focus was on honoring the students who had submitted their drawings. Afterward, children, parents, and grandparents had the opportunity to get involved in numerous workshops—ranging from Calligraphy and everything from flipchart design to 3D printing and an AI workshop to moments from around the world, „Dialogus“ and a chocolate tasting. This brought creativity to life and created a shared experience that will be remembered long after the day is over.

Our conclusion

The MakersHub Chemnitz2025 shows what’s possible when people, ideas, and technologies come together. At Werkbank32, this vision comes to life—as a place for exchange, learning, and collaborative action. Here, not only projects take shape, but also connections that will have an impact far beyond the Capital of Culture year. Because every encounter, every experiment, and every story helps make Chemnitz and Europe a little more creative, open, and connected.
