Partnership 2.0: District of Central Saxony, Teleskopeffekt and Volksbank Mittweida eG continue their successful collaboration

Mittweida, Central Saxony, June 23, 2023 

Today, District Administrator Dirk Neubauer, Prof. Leonhard Zintl from Volksbank Mittweida and Dr. Benjamin Zeitler from Teleskopeffekt, together with Kerstin Kunze from the Economic Development Department, signed the partnership agreement 2.0. This renewed agreement was ceremoniously presented as part of the newly opened D(e) Estonia showroom in Werkbank32. 

Strengthened partnership for an innovative district 

This agreement serves as a renewal and refreshment of the first partnership agreement, which was signed on January 19, 2022, and reaffirms the intention of all parties to continue acting for the benefit of the region. It builds on the good cooperation that has been established since the signing of the first agreement. 

"Our renewed partnership signals our strong commitment to the region and our desire to break new ground together with our partners," explains District Administrator Dirk Neubauer. 

Continuation of proven projects and new initiatives 

In addition to the continuation of topics and formats such as the SME Day and various digitalization projects in business development, the agreement also provides for the inclusion of new topics. The focus here is on sustainability and innovation for companies in the region. 

Kerstin Kunze from the Economic Development Department comments: "With this partnership, we not only want to continue proven projects and initiatives, but also open up new subject areas that are of crucial importance for the economy and society of Central Saxony." 

District Administrator Neubauer travels to digitalization pioneer Estonia 

As part of the signing of the partnership agreement 2.0, District Administrator Neubauer will present a Ticket to Estonia, the international pioneer in digitalization, received. The trip takes place from October 9 to 11, 2023 and is intended to gather new ideas and impulses for the further development of the district of Central Saxony. 

"We are proud of the success of our partnership to date and look forward to the upcoming projects and innovations that will be made possible by this renewed agreement," summarizes Prof. Leonhard Zintl, CEO of Volksbank Mittweida. 

The signing of the partnership agreement 2.0 marks a further step in the joint effort to shape the Central Saxony region in an innovative and sustainable way 

The actors 

District of Central Saxony 

The district of Central Saxony is located in the heart of the Free State of Saxony and was born on August 1, 2008. It was formed from the merger of the former districts of Döbeln, Freiberg and Mittweida. As a very rural district, Central Saxony is proud of the diversity of its business sectors and supports them as much as it can. 

Among other things, the business development department acts as a point of contact for all companies that are based in the district of Central Saxony or want to put down new roots here.The team looks after and supports both large and small companies with questions about finding a location, recruiting skilled workers and all other issues relating to a healthy and sustainable business.
