"Not again" - picking up speed towards enthusiasm

Find out how targeted onboarding can get employees excited about digital tools like M365 right from the start:

"Not again" say a third of your colleagues as soon as they hear that a new digital tool is being introduced. The other third of your employees say "I wonder what that will be" when they hear that a new process design for communication is coming their way.

And now?

Are you facing one of the biggest challenges - the introduction of a comprehensive set of digital productivity and collaboration tools to improve collaboration and communication (kur M365)?

How will you tackle this challenge so that the improvement really happens? Because let's be honest, the improvement will occur if the two-thirds of your employees quoted above also participate. Otherwise, you have a third of your colleagues who communicate in real time and whose processes are significantly accelerated. However, this does not yet reduce your cost-income ratio or increase productivity. Collaborative software such as M365 is all about us working together with our colleagues (including the two-thirds): no more endless emails with several people in CC or series of calendars - direct collaboration in real time through chats, efficient video conferences with digital notes, optimized calendar management and so on and so forth

So what to do?

In recent years, we have introduced a number of digital productivity tools ourselves (5 - the statement "not again" is now understandable) and also supported companies in the introduction of communication platforms. So it was obvious to develop an onboarding for tools so that everyone can "get going".

Insides of onboarding for the efficient use of new tools, for example M365:

So we like to talk about 3 strands of integration:

  • Strand 1: technical implementation at overall company level and for individual employees
  • Strand 2: Development of a set of guidelines and manuals for the various functions
  • Strand 3: Training guidelines for the various employees based on their previous experience and their own assessment of digital competence

Now the question is, how can you implement these strands?

The transparency and traceability of your workforce is important here. To achieve this, you should involve your employees. Accordingly, we use the lead user method, i.e. at least one employee is selected from each of your areas (note a good assessment here - no gut decision!). This team acts:

  •  as a task force in the creation of the roadmap for technical implementation,
  • as a development team for the guidelines (an existing catalog of values is of course helpful),
  • as a contact person for direct implementation (trusted emergency agent, so to speak),
  • as an elaborator of the training concepts (i.e. not implementing it yourself, but acting as a mentor).
