Company succession is one of the most pressing challengesen for German SMEs. In Mittweida, Volksbank Mittweida eGMittweida University of Applied Sciences and Teleskopeffekt (operator of the workbench32) have joined forces to work with the NEXXT-Mittweida project to find answers and solutions for companies in the region. The contract has now been awardedthat the Federal Ministry of Economics will support the project over the next three years.
As part of the "Company succession - from practice for practice" initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, concepts that can implement support services for company handovers have been evaluated nationwide in recent months. The model project NEXXT Mittweida - "Value-oriented company succession in times of digital transformation" is one of the winners alongside 29 other projects.
The project was launched in November 2020 and since then, innovative formats for a successful succession process have been developed and designed. The existing expertise of Volksbank Mittweida eG, Mittweida University of Applied Sciences (jointly managed by Prof. Dr. Volker Tolkmitt, Vice Rector Education, and Prof. Dr. Alexander Knauer, Chair of Digital Business and E-Entrepreneurship) and Teleskopeffekt GmbH is being pooled for this purpose. The NEXXT-Mittweida ecosystem also includes other experts such as tax consultants, lawyers, networks and associations. In this way, the various parts of a successful and value-oriented company transfer are efficiently organized for company owners, potential successors and the company.
NEXXT-Mittweida thus provides companies in the region with important support for the pressing challenges they face. The project will run for three years and will then be implemented in other regions of Germany.
