"Let's shape the future together - Mittweida is the place to be!" - is the motto of the Innovation Centre for Digitalization, which can be found at Bahnhofstraße 32 in Mittweida and is a joint project of Volksbank Mittweida EG and Teleskopeffekt GmbH.
Werkbank32 is the engine of innovation, a place for start-ups, established companies or coworkers; there are innovative workspaces and state-of-the-art rooms for workshops or events. A place has been created where innovations can find a home and a lively entrepreneurial spirit can find optimal conditions. The promising national and international partner network and the on-site cooperation with Mittweide University of Applied Sciences, the Blockchain Competence Center Mittweida (BCCM) and other progressive companies form the perfect platform and basis for this.
After only small partial openings of the individual areas due to the pandemic, the completion of the first two buildings has now finally been officially celebrated. Saxony's Minister President Michael Kretschmer, MdL, was a guest at the grand opening of Werkbank32: "Small and medium-sized enterprises throughout Saxony are crucial for good economic development, jobs and prosperity. Places such as Werkbank32 create new possibilities and opportunities for existing and new companies and are a good example of entrepreneurial action and start-up spirit. Places like this are a platform for employment and help to realize ideas and bring creative people together." Marco Wanderwitz, Federal Government Commissioner for the New Federal States, and Thomas Schmidt, Minister of State for Regional Development, also attended the opening ceremony and were delighted with the initiative.
Official congratulations, a short presentation of the various subject areas by important stakeholders and users of Werkbank32 in the form of a small panel and a symbolic tree planting rounded off the program. After the official inauguration, the invited guests from business, politics and research generally enjoyed themselves on the site with interesting conversations, food, drink and music.
