After a welcome with a champagne reception and Dr. Benjamin Zeitler in Werkbank 32, the kick-off event began with a keynote speech by Christian Buchholz from Verrocchio Institute. In his presentation "Everything remains different - Which innovations will shape the world after Corona", he spoke about innovation know-how and gave insights into the digital transformation. Afterwards, we spent an evening together with interesting discussions and networking.
On the morning of July 15, after a brief welcome from Dr. Benjamin Zeitler, we were joined by Dr. Philipp Ramin from the Innovation center for Industry 4.0 Insights on "Upskilling, reskilling and learning culture: digital competence as a competitive factor in the financial sector". Holger Werner from DS Catalyst on the future of corporate banking and the first block of lectures was concluded with Maro Rudolf and his personal story about failure and what we can learn from it.
After a short coffee break, the audience was refreshed for the presentations "Technology in the focus of supervision - the wide angle of the BaFin reform" by Dr. Michael Jünemann and Jörg-Alexander Paul from Bird & Bird and "What does the end of the 3rd party cookie mean?" with Sylvia Huttanus from Salesforce.
Leonhard Zintl, CEO of Volksbank Mittweida, also made it clear in his inspiring keynote speech that we can only really make a difference if we simply do something rather than wait and see! With Candy Meinunger from Spirit³ we will learn more about the relevance of corporate culture as a success factor before the lunch break. After lunch, we continued with an exciting and highly innovative presentation by Dr. Heike Riel, Executive Director of the IBM Research Frontiers Institute, live from Zurich on quantum computing and artificial intelligence.
Finally, Christian Vogt from Cisco In his keynote "The changing office workplace - what we need to focus on now", he addressed the following questions: What paradigm shifts are on the horizon? What should we deal with now? And what concrete solutions are available? Robert Wittke from Samsung then took a look at the technology and office workplaces of the future. With Samsung, you only need your smartphone instead of a laptop.
"A great event with professional organization - I'll be back next year" and "My expectations were already exceeded in the first two presentations!" - were just the first pieces of feedback on the Bank Innovativ Day 2021. For most of the participants and speakers, it was their first offline presentation this year, so they were delighted to finally be able to exchange ideas, network and be inspired on site again.
For all those who were unable to attend this year, interested parties and innovation enthusiasts, there is more good news: Bank Innovativ Day will take place again next year! We are already looking forward to welcoming you back to Werkbank32 in Mittweida on July 12 and 13, 2022 for 1.5 exciting days.
